five years post prostatectomy

I am five years  post radical prostatectomy. What would cause a burning sensation during and just after an orgasm, most times?

Hi,
I had a radical prostatectomy three years ago. I also have a pain immediately after orgasm, but it feels like someone kicked me hard just near my anus. It last for hours, and recurs over the following days each time I go to the toilet or become sexually excited. I feel it quite deeply inside.
Do you also have a bad mood that lasts about three days after an orgasm? I do, but I don't know if it's due to missing hormones or bipolar disorder (I am lucky to be so blessed aren't I?).
I try to abstain but I'm not holding up well, as hypersexuality goes with the bipolar territory.
Sorry I don't have an answer for you selimp, but at least you know there are others out there with similar pain.

Hi,

Unfortunately this is a fairly understudied phenomenon, there isn’t even a consensus on the exact nature of the problem. One theory involves spasm of the bladder floor, there have been some studies using tamsulosin, the results seem beneficial – but the statistics are not really compelling to make a robust recommendation. Others have used an anticonvulsant drug Topiramate – this likely targets nerve dysfunction.

There are some surgical options as well, including removing certain sections of ligaments and ablating nerves that may be dysfunctional.

It would be a great idea to consult your doctor and discuss what options are available to you.
