proctitis after radiation

i was reading other comments about having radiation and the after affects, I had colon cancer/stage 3 , i had a colon resection and followed up with 14 treatments of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiation. I have recently been diagnosed with possible radiation procititis ? anal fissure? by a GI doctor that I was referred to, my Oncologist said I had tenesmus, my Surgeon had never heard of it...everything that I have researched and read about is proctitis/tenesmus... I'm also very tired of this and want to be well again and just normal. The GI doctor gave me a foam prescription, 2 anitbiotics, and a stool hardner.   My question to this group, is there a diet that will help in the long term, I never had to pay attention to diet before, so I wouldn't know the difference between high fiber and low fiber foods.  where can i find simple diets to follow,,,yes, you can have this, no you can't have that type of  retraining.

A high fibre diet would include leafy vegetables, legumes, fruits like prunes and raisins, and whole grains (wheat. Rye bread, corn, breakfast cereal) along with enough water (8 glasses a day).
