It is true that men with prostate cancer or prostate infection should get the doctors ok before trying prostate massage. Otherwise, prostate massage is a healthy way to maintain a mans prostate health.

Prostate massage has been around for centuries, long before modern surgery snd chemotherapy..

Doctors today have moved away from prostate massage in favor of more modern treatments which are expensive and often leave the man impotent or dead.

A prostate massager is designed to massage the prostate and prevent the user from injurying himself when used properly..

Many doctors are returning to prostate massage as a viable means to treaing BPH and
prostatitis.

Be careful when someone tells you that a health method that existed long before
modern surgery and chemotherapy is no longer any good. Quite the contrary, often modern medicine has killed or maimed many.

Prostate massage has kept me healthy and virile at a age when many men have lost
thier sexual vitality.

Speaking strictly as a layman: From what I've read, these devices can be dangerous. You can injure the prostate; if you already have prostatitis you can make it worse; you can cause inflammation; if you have prostate calcifications (very common) you can cause them to break up and damage cell walls in the prostate (calcifications are hard and sharp-edged); spread any infection that might be there; damage the rectal membrane, thus possibly causing infection where there wasn't any; and even possibly dislodge cancer cells (if there are any) and allow them to migrate elsewhere in the prostate and possibly even escape the prostate.

Such a device might create pleasure - the prostate is very erotically sensitive - but if you've got infection or inflammation down there the device is much more likely to cause pain.

I've read, too, that doctors generally do not do prostate massage much anymore, and limit their activity down there to digital rectal examinations to try to detect any abnormality, such as hardness or swelling, and to induce semen into the urine for testing.

There are safer ways to treat an enlarged prostate, and bacterial infections need to be treated by antibiotics - and generally it takes antibiotics about a month (instead of the traditional 10 days) to be able to treat a prostate infection. First you have to know if you actually have an infection.

I am not a doctor at all - just telling you what I've read, and I've read a lot, being a cancer patient/hopefully a survivor myself.
