prostate surgery recovery

I had surgery (TURP) for an enlarged prostate about five weeks ago.  Since then I have developed a burning sensation on urinating; frequent urination with slow stream and small amounts.  I saw my surgeon several days ago, and he prescribed antibiotics, which I am currently taking.  I am worried.  I have no progress yet.  I am wondering what to expect next.   How long should this take.  When can I resume sexual activity.
