Prostatis? or Cancer? Pain in spermatic cord and prostate

by Dave74, Dec 01, 2008 01:22PM
Hi Doctor, I am a 34 year old male, no history of health problems no STD's, etc.  About 8 months ago I started having pain above my left testicle.  I was treated for epididymitis with a few antibiotics.  It did not work, ultrasound showed nothing.  The pain then moved into my prostate and other side, staying primarily in the base of the penis on both sides and slightly down the spermatic cord.  6 weeks of vibratabs followed again with no relief.   So far the only thing that seems to help is taking 1 meloxicam NSAID every day.  And even then I still feel some pain in 1 or sometimes both areas in the base of the penis/spermatic cord.  Also if I go off the pills for more than 24-36 hours symptoms come back slowly.  I have been checked for hernias, etc and nothing.  My urologist says that prostatitis can affect the spermatic cord area, but there is no cure for a non bacterial problem if this is what I have.

Any Ideas? I am desperate to find an answer and I do not want to stay on anti inflammitories indefinately.

The majority of the pain is usually on the right side now at the base of the penis and spermatic cord area and sometimes feels tender.  I don't know if it is relevent but it is made worse when ever I 'push' hard, like during urination or if I have gas.  There is no pain during ejaculation.

Thank you so much.

Dave
