Advice on 5th metatarsal break

Hi all,
I broke my 5th metatarsal 11 weeks ago this Sunday. I'll try to upload my most recent x-ray for ye to see. Basically I'm very unhappy with the doctor as I have no real indication of how much longer I'll be healing before I'm fully right. I walk with no pain typically, tried running tonight and had pain alright and some lingering pain afterwards which I know is a bad sign anyway. The pain wasn't particularly severe but still. I was wondering is it possible the pain could be from soft tissue and not the break itself? Even though the bone is still clearly missing a chunk on the x-ray, which brings me to my next point, is it possible the bone is healed but not healed radiographically yet? Thanks for any help on the matter!

You should follow the advice of an orthopedic surgeon, or seek a second opinion of another orthopedic surgeon, as there are many variables, including but not limited to location (intra-articular vs. extra-articular) as well as alignment/displacement of bones. Imaging follow-up is important to show bony bridging and callous formation, indicative of healing. Persistence of a linear lucency/fracture line portends poor prognosis, such as incomplete healing/non-union.
