Hi,
How are you? Consolidation or condition in which lung tissue becomes firm and solid due to accumulation of fluids and tissue debris may be distinguished with other structures in the chest such as the heart through anatomical location and with respect to the structures around it. Indeed it can be difficult to identify the difference especially in lateral view and untrained eye, it is best that you discuss the results with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and best regards.
