What is the black area on CT?

I have been having pain on the left side of my chest just under my rib cage.  I got a CT last week and the imaging center gave me the scans to bring right to my doctor.  When I brought the in my doctor said he didn't know how to read the scans, and hasn't even opened them since...I'm waiting on a radiologist report....but the black area on the attached image is where I've been feeling pain, so I'm wondering if anybody can tell me what this is??  Cyst???

I have experience in ultrasound, not ct... But... I'm pretty sure it is fluid.
