why do i have sensitivity/pain to second tip of toe?

I am having left second toe sensitivity only to the tip of toe, no trauma/injury. This toe is much longer than normal from what Dr told me. I have to be careful even when putting my pants on because the touch causes pain. Does anyone have idea what it this can be? also no redness or inflammation to the toe.

I already got an x-ray and the Dr mentioned that the bone to the 2nd toe is slightly bulging out (as in bulging out twds the floor, not sides) but Dr did not think this was cause of my pain.
So I then got an MRI done without contrast to rule out neuroma and Dr says the that its negative for neuroma but I do have small amount of fluid within that bone. Its the weekend so I will be able to talk more to Dr. tomorrow, but for now any ideas any advice will be greatly appreciated because now sensitivity/ pain is getting worse and I am limping. I work in a hospital and do a lot of walking. Also its easier to walk with flip-flops as oppose to sneakers
