Cut film mammography

Does invasive lobular carcinoma show up on plain cut film mammography.  Pt. comes in no symptoms to speak of, just routine ck.  No mag views or cone down, obliques because this regular ck up.

Spiculated masses and architectural distortions are the predominant appearances of invasive lobular carcinoma so yes, it does show up on mammography (film or digital).  If there are any symptoms, then further evaluation of the region of clinical concern should be investigated i.e. with more focused imaging or tissue sampling.
