external rotation loss after mri arthrography

my mri arthrogram procedure was really hard and painful, surgeon tried to enter the capsule for 20 minutes and wanted me to externally rotate my shoulder during the needle injection. next day, i had pain in external rotation and after 3 days, i have a 10-20 degree loss of external rotation. is it normal?

Usually post procedure, there may be some mild loss of external rotation due to inflammatory changes / pain.  However, this should resolve.  If range of motion does not return to normal, you should consult the surgeon.  Hope you are feeling better by now.  best regards,
GC
