Crawling sensation all over body

Scabies have been ruled out.  Something is on me that crawls, bites and causes a mild burning sensation.  Please don't tell me it's in my mind, l know what I feel.  Ben going and coping with this for almost 1 1/2 years.  Afraid to have a relationship because of it.  Help please.

Hi,
How are you? I'm sorry to hear what you have been through for the last 1.5 years. Do you take any maintenance medicine during this time? What tests were done in the past? Formication or sensation that resembles that of insects crawling on the skin may present with feelings of itchiness, tingling, pins and needles, burning, or even pain. Causes could include hormonal issues ( as mentioned above) such as onset of menopause  and medical conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, skin cancer, syphilis, Lyme disease or herpes zoster. You may benefit from from further evaluation by your doctor or a referral to a specialist (like dermatologist or neurologist). Take care and do keep us posted.

A phantom sensation of ants or other insects crawling on their skin is a sign of low estrogen.  Taking phytoestrogen (mimics estrogen) supplements such as soy, black cohosh, ginseng, or red clover can help. Full effects can take a few months to kick in.  You can find phytoestrogen supplements at health food stores and pharmacies.
