Head Pressure/Dull pain inside head

by lizethm, Sep 02, 2009 11:29PM
Hi, I'm 21 years old, female,  woman that has been living with constant headaches since I can remember.
I usually dealt with my headaches by taking aspirin or acetaminophen. They sometimes go away or last the whole day. But lately I'm been feeling something that I can not find an answer to.
About 2 months ago, I began feeling pressure behind my eyes and my nose, then followed more pressure in top of my neck and head. I have ringing in the left ear and a constant pain in the left side of my forehead. I find it diffiicult to breath through my nose because it tends to get stuffy though there isn't any mucus inside it. So Sinus pressure is out of the question.
I went to the ear, nose, throat specialist and he told me I had a case of TMJ.
I then bought a teeth protector for night-wear. I tought things would get better but I was wrong.
My symptoms have gotten stronger and I can not bear the pressure in my nose/forehead/eyes any longer.
I went to a regular physician and he prescribed Nasonex. wich, again hasn't relieved any of my symptoms.
I'm desperate to find a cure to my heaches and now this horrible pressure that comes more often at night.
I'm uninsured and I'm trying my best to get the help, but I can not afford to get a CT scan or MRI to tell me if there is something more serious going on inside my brain.
HELP!!

Hi,
How are you? If medications do not provide relief, it would also help to determine the triggers that may be causing your headache. Knowing the triggers would help prevent them from recurring. Alternative medicine such as biofeedback and hypnosis may also help. However, neurological examination and additional tests such as the CT or MRI are really important in determining the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
