Pain in the lymph nodes

I have been suffering from lymph node ache/pain for a while now. It started on the right side of my neck and then it went to my groin an in the armpits. I do not have this all the time but this pain/discomfort in the lymph nodes comes and goes throughout the month. I do not have any swelling or redness over the lymph nodes.

What could be the cause of this?

Hey, nah, have no idea. I still get those pains, the Dr is not sure "typical". I also have lots of other problems like tingling all over etc, i'm just hoping it's not MS. I am seeing a neurologist today, will let you know.

Take care :)

Yeah, it is really hard with three kids plus I'm currently single. (married but seperated)
I had my first son really young (15) and even though I LOVE him soooo much, it was still not something I really expected or wanted at the time but as soon as I looked at him I fell in love. The love a mom has for her kids is like no other, its just always there.

Your little girl is sooo beautiful, she looks like an angel! and yeah, I think if you only have two children you will enjoy it so much more. When you have so many its hard to give them that quality one on one time that they deserve. I'm sure that you have probably heard this so many times but seriously cherish every moment with her because they really do grow up sooo fast! It seems like just yesterday that I had my son and he is already 12. I keep wondering where the last 12 years went. Its crazy!!

Why are you being tested for MS? Do you have the symptoms?

Haha, awww thanks but i do get them, and when i do have them i don't leave the house. Yeah i went to the doctor and he said they are boils, i get them everywhere on my body but mostly my face. I hate them so much, they're painful and ugly!

Yeah i agree too much makeup etc is too much for our skin.

Wow you have 3 kids and your only 27? Good on you!
I have one 9 month old and we are going to start trying for number two in 3 months time, I think we are going to leave it just at two though, they're pretty full on. Your brave haha "3kids"!

I can totally relate to not worrying about your makeup not as much after having kids, you just don't really have time & being tired all the time, after you have got bub showed, dressed, nappy bag packed...you kind of don't feel like going to all the trouble to do yourself up. I try my best though.

Sammmmmy :)

Sorry, I had to stop on the last post before I was done. So what I was saying is that maybe it is all related a little. If you think about it, a boil is an infected and inflammed hair root and if were always clogging our pores with all the good stuff then at some point they're going to flare up. I think exfoliation is good but just dont do it too often. Anytime I scrub my face with anything harder then my hands it breaks out but I still do it once in a while or my face starts looking really dry. Also drink lots and lots of water. It really helps get rid of all the toxins in our bodies and the result is better skin. You say that you eat lots of meats, are you talking about red meats? Too much red meat is bad for you, its really bad for your heart and the body doesn't digest it very well. Meaning it sits longer in the digestion track which puts out toxins into your body which eventually come out through the skin.

Well thats surprising to hear! You are so pretty that I cant imagine you having boils on your face. Are you sure its not cystic acne? My best friend had that and she would get huge cysts on her jaw line and cheeks. She had to take accutane but it cleared it up completely. She also gets boils all the time. I also used to get them more frequently when I was younger. I sometimes wonder if it was from all the girl stuff I would use on my body. From your pics you seem to take very good care of yourself which would mean that you probably use girl stuff such as exfoliators, sugar scrubs, scented lotions and soaps, makeup, perfume etc. Even though it all makes us look pretty and smell good, I think our bodies break out from using it all. I am only 27 but after having three kids I dont do anything with myself anymore.

Hello again. I get boils everywhere, mostly on my face, like i get like 6 on my face at a time. My doctor said i need to watch what i am eating, i said to him i eat fine, like apart from the occausional junk food binge, i eat lots of vegies, lots of meats, take vitamins and calcium. Like i said earlier, i dont' have any diseases, no cancer that i am aware of, last they checked, my bloods were fine. Ahhh x

Oh, no swelling. I haven't heard of that, so I'm not sure. The boil thing, yes I do know how painful that can be. And if you get them that often plus needing atibiotics then it could very well be causing the pain. Yes, you are right about the infection getting into blood stream which actually is more concerning then the lymph pain because you can get very sick or even die from it getting into the blood. Plus, you dont want to take antibiotics to often, there are a lot of long term side effects and you can build up immunity to them. I would try to focus on the boils, they do tend to come up in the bottom area or in between the legs. I would try and see if your clothing is rubbing in those areas and maybe even using baby powder to keep extra dry. Maybe look up "how to keep from getting boils". I'm really thinking thats what the problem is.
Keep in touch

Hi, yeah, i have had an ANA blood test and they found nothing. I am currently trying to find out if i have multiple sclerosis or not. I dont think MS has anything to do with the lymph nodes though. I was just readin up on lymphadenitis-(swelling of the nodes) and it was saying that boils and ingrowns can get into the blood stream and cause this pain i am expirencing. I get boils so often, like i get them every two weeks or so. I go to the doctor and get antibiotics for them allot but they seem to pop back. When i get a boil they're so painful. I had one on my bottom 2 weeks ago and there was a big (huge) red painful circle around it and it trobbed so bad, the pain went all the way down my leg.
Another thing, when i get lymph pain, there is NO swelling at all???

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry, I didn't mean to word it like I thought that you had HIV or cancer, I was just showing you the range on what it could be. And yes, ingrown hairs and boils could be the cause. The next time they swell, look everywhere and see if you see anything unusual. When I first noticed mine, they were on the back of my neck on the left side. They were huge and extremely painful. I went to the doctor and she found an ingrown hair on my scalp, almost directly above the node. Since then they swell up from time to time and I usually look and feel and sure enough I will find something. Have you ever been tested for lupus or another type of autoimmune disease? I ask this because when I went to the doctor for the lymph nodes, she ran all sorts of tests and I had a positive lupus test but with a second test was negative. I always wonder if the second test was right though because I have a lot of symptoms involved with lupus. Bye for now

Hi, i don't have AIDs or cancer.

What else could it be, what other kind of infection? Everytime i get bloodwork done every thing comes out clear, any ideas?  About the ingrown hair thing, i do get those allot and i do get boils all the time, could they cause the lymp-node pain?

Hi,

You most likely have some type of infection. The best thing for you to do, is to go to the doctor and have blood work done. Lymph nodes swelling could range from something as minor as an infection from an ingrown hair to something as serious as cancer or HIV (AIDS). I would only ask for opinions from this site once your doctor has ruled out anything too serious. Don't worry though, my lymph nodes have been swelling up for about 4 years. I dont have anything serious, so I just ignore them. It gets easier once you know its not anything major. Good luck
