left side numb

by rwastelands, Oct 07, 2009 08:38AM
hello,
i have been plagued with this for almost 10 months now.

when i first started out i thought i had a hernia. the symptoms where as follows. i had discomfort in lower abdominal area. sometimes it would get severe. then my left side from lower butt cheek to knee area would get a numb sensation and tingling. the lower butt cheek would also swell slightly. i could feel for the lack of a better word ropes in the lower butt cheek when i did self exam and my left scrotal would feel numb. when i get excited i would either not stay erect long or it got to the point where the tip of my penis would go numb and no amount of stimulation would get me to ejaculate. i have noticed recently that my sperm has a jelled appearance from time to time.

due to my size the doctor ordered a ultrasound to rule out the hernia and to see if i am getting good blood flow to the scrotom area. the ruling is no hernia and good blood flow.
i have also gone through a cat scan to rule out stones.

so far the doctor can find nothing wrong and is taking this lightly.

i have been looking for another doctor and do not intend to use this forum as a cure all but i just wanted to see what you think about my symptoms.

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
If you cycle a lot, ride a horse or a bike, then in all probability this is saddle injury, which causes nerve injury in areas that come in contact with the saddle. Groin and buttock numbness, pain, extending to legs, erectile dysfunction are all part of it.
Another possibility is entrapment of the pudendal nerve. This also causes pain and numbness in the perineum (groin, buttock) along with ejaculatory dysfunction.
Please consult a neurologist ASAP.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
