many different diagnoses, but really no answers

I have a 20 year old female friend who has had many different health problems. Within the last two years she has been diagnosed with kidney stones, anemia, pancreatitis, hypokalemia, mixed connective tissue disease, asthma, raynauds disease, mono, bronchitis, pleurisy, pericarditis, chostochondritis, uti's, kidney infections...She has had a fever for weeks...The drs say her potassium is dangerously low and they've given her multiple IV's with potassium, but it hasn't helped make any improvements. Does anyone know if there is any certain disease/disorder that may cause all of these different problems? Any suggestions would be very helpful. thank you

Hello kaluvzmc,
The main underlying problem is the connective tissue disorder. The treatment has to be based on the symptoms for each system. One needs to prioritize for the acuteness of the symptoms and the disease. Continue with the management with potassium and also initiate corticosteroids for the connective tissue disorder as the other diseases might be the complication of the connective tissue disease. At the same time pancreatitis needs immediate attention.
