Nose Colapse After Post Op Infection

by whisperingwillow, Jul 31, 2009 11:56AM
I had been sent to an ENT due to acute and chronic sinus infections.  She said I had a deviated septum and did the surgery to repair it.  I had a reaction to the antibiotic that she gave me which landed me in the hospital.  However when the hospital doctor was going to give me a new antibiotic to cover me during my post-op period she called them up and told them not to.   Make a long story short I got a post-op infection and I am left with the middle of my nose caved in.  What are my options?  What can be done?  I do not want to go back to that doctor.  Living this way is unacceptable.

You will need an extensive reconstruction and need to see a reconstructive ENT or plastic surgeon to fix this. It will probably require a bone graft.
