I can't offer any advise on the treatment (no one seems to be able to help me with my trauma scars either) but I can sympathize with your daughters feelings about social activity. It is a horrible feeling to be judged or looked at because of your scars. My scars take up my entire forehead and bridge of my nose. I relieved some of my anxiety with larger framed glasses and heavy bangs. if the scars can't be reduced, maybe she should try some inventive "camoflage" like i did.
These ice pick scars can be removed by primary excision, but patient needs to accept red scars and slow healing with eventual healing , and then derambarasion and laser will help. Nothing helps ice pick scars because they penetrate too deeply to revise with surface treatments. That is the dermatologist approach, and it will not work. Excise, dermabrade or laser and you will get satisfactory results.

I'm sorry to hear that. She really shouldn't let her scars affect her like that. Having some scars is not a big deal at all. I still wear shorts even with a large nine inch scar on my thigh. It's not exactly nice looking, but it doesn't matter. People do learn to look beyond the scars. So she should just live her life and not worry so much about it.
Hi, thanks for the post. yes there are options like fillers but unfortunately they do not last and gives uneven skin. it has limitation. its really sad than noone has a permnent solution for scar. the sad thing is my daugter doen not mind scars as long as they not visible but no body say that they can treat her. indented scars looks so bad in some light. she had flowless skin . now she does not trust any doctors any longer. she left all her friends and doen not go out. she used to social life does not exist any more.
...usually it covers a wide area of skin, and the scars are small, so it's too hard to do anything for it. but if the indented scar is big enough, try asking about fat injections. that can help with the indentation. just a thought.
