swelling and pain after bilateral mastectomy

Had bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction 5 weeks ago, am having alot of swelling on and off,squeezing sensation and pain daily.Is this normal and how long can I expect this to go on..Please help with any answers.Thanks.
