Men and IUDs

by ucrooks, Oct 23, 2007 04:01AM
My boyfriend says that he has been poked by my IUD - a sharp pin ***** sensation during sex.  I went to my doctor to have it checked and he says it's fine - inserted properly, not dislocated, etc.  Even after this visit, my boyfriend has complained about it again and says it's painful enough to stop sex "in session".  I've searched the Internet and can't find anything related to this type of side effect.  Anyone have any answers, ideas, suggestions?  I need help trying to figure this out!  U-

Yes what is happening is he is hitting the end of the IUD. The only option you would have would be ~only if your Dr thinks this is safe~ have your Dr cut a little more off the end of the IUD. I have an IUD & my husband & I had this problem, my OBG cut a little more off ~as much as he felt was safe~ & it helped. My husband could still feel it but it was not near as bad or as painful. Hope this helps
