There a few things in this relationship that it seems you need to work on. I do hope that you hold off on trying for a baby until everything is settled out. Trust is very important and if you can't trust your significant other, then you really don't have much of a relationship to be honest. You've already been together for a couple years, so did you trust him before? Or have you never been able to fully trust him?

If you added more details it would help to get a better answer.  If this is a fairly new relationship it will take time to get to that point where you both will let your guards down.  Depending on previous relationships and how much someone was hurt it can make it difficult to fully open up and trust someone.  Also, what was their family history like?  All can play a huge factor in how open a person is when entering a relationship.  If you've been in the relationship for awhile and it's at a standstill then there is no saying this person will ever be as open as you want them to be.  Trust takes time to build.
