Virginity Questions...

by joey9120, Feb 11, 2007 12:00AM
ok, How far in is a woman's hymen (cherry)? Me and my girlfriend just recently had sex, and I am wondering if I broke her hymen. I wasn't very hard at the time, and I'm not sure if she bled, but she did say that it felt uncomfortable. So Help?

If you and your girlfriend had sex, it's broken.  Not all women bleed when they have sex for the first time.

Actually, it's not NECESSARILY broken.  Some hymens never actually break, but they stretch.  Sometimes it's broken before intercourse due to some other strenuous activity.  Other times, it never breaks but stretches.  So, broken or not, sexual penetration of penis into vagina equals loss of virginity even if it remains intact.  The state of the hymen is NOT an indicator (that's an old wive's tale.)

Myself and my girlfriend attempted to have sex for the first time yesterday.  She told me a few days before that at age 39 she was still a virgin.  No matter how hard we tried I was unable to penetrate her.  She experienced a great deal of pain but no matter how hard we tried it would not happen.

Is there anything we could try differently?  Should we go see her doctor? Is there some sort of surgical procedure that could be performed that would allow her to have sex?

Thanks in advance.

yeah, she might want to go see her doctor. there's a procedure called a hymenectomy (sp?) that can solve this problem. they do it right in the gyno's office -- they apply some local anesthesia and remove the hymen so that sex is easier and less painful.

or...and this is what happened to some of my friends...you can just try again. after a couple tries, it should start to wear down the hymen a bit, and eventually you'll be able to break it. this will hurt her a lot for the time being, but once its broken, it will be fine.
