could i be pregnant?

by paranoid2008, Apr 18, 2008 06:45PM
Ok, I know this forum is not the place for my question, but I just needed some feedback.

On March 21 I had my period (my cycle is usually between 25 -28 days).  On April 2 my husband and I had sex and he came inside me.  I am not taking the pills, so within an hour of him coming inside me, I took Plan B. I was expecting my period to come a few days to a week after taking Plan B, however, it came today (which is just about when it would have been due had I not taken the Plan B).

I keep wondering if I am pregnant;  I am not experiencing any pregnancy symptoms, at least, nothing is happening that I don't experience when I am having my period. But, I still keep thinking that may be I am having 'implantation bleeding'.  I am not seeing anything out of the norm;  it's brownish red and light, which is how it is most times on day 1.

My question is, after having taken Plan B so soon after intercourse, is it any at all possible for me to become pregnant?

ok, well the success rate of plan b is 89% if you take it right after (which you did). plan b can mess with your cycle, making it either earlier or later and possibly with spotting inbetween. so, odds are, you aren't pregnant, but it would be a good idea just to take a pregnancy test to find out.

It sounds very unlikely that you are pregnant. The bleeding is probably from the Plan B pill. It's a very potent dose of hormones that, although preventing pregnancy, can really mess the rest of your body up for a while. That's why it's recommended as an emergency form of birth control only.

I've used it once and it caused random spotting for about a week. Can't remember how much it affected the timing of my period though, if at all.
