ARDS & CHICKENPOX

I have a patient with chickenpox with ARDS. I have put him on IV Acyclovir for 3 days followed by oral acyclovir 800mg 5 times a day for 7 days. He is not on ventilator but requires Oxygen continuously. I would like to know how long should I continue Acyclovir and what other modalities of treatment are availoable. What inivestigations will be helpful to monitor the patient.
