Achalasia Cardia

Hi,
I was diagonised for Achalasia cardia and had undergone a endoscopic dilation couple of years back.
Still i do not see any improvements in my swallowing behaviour. Is there any good medication available other than surgery?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Some patients may not respond to a single dilatation and may require a second dilatation for relief from symptoms. Also, medical management with nitrates and calcium channel blockers can provide relief in 50-90% of patients. So, don't worry and discuss these options with your doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
