Acute or chronic bronchitis?

Hello, I'm a 23 year-old woman and a light smoker (5-6 cigarettes a day). I've been having acute bronchitis once a year since I was 9yo, but for the last 4 years it's been happening very frequently, at least 3 times a year. Seems like everytime I get a cold it evolves to bronchitis. I'm confused that I might have developed chronic bronchitis, however my episodes resolve in no more than a week and I don't have cough, mucus or any other symptoms in between episodes. Is it possible to have acute bronchitis several times a year? Thank you so much for your help.
