Adult Croup

I get Adult Croupe quite often. I have the onset now. I take Prednisolone to help. I also have a hiatus hernia. Do these two things go hand in hand? I have had both for about 10 years. Is it likely that I'll have to live with getting Croupe for the rest of my life?  This is stopping me from working and being social. :(

Thank you so much for your help.  I've also heard that cold air helps with Croupe? How does this work. I ways thought that I had to keep warm and drink warm drinks.

The Adult Croup is probably not related to the hiatal hernia.  Some adults have thickening of their vocal cords and also acid reflux which make them more susceptible to getting croup when they get a viral infection.  Unfortunately, you may be one of the individuals and will get these symptoms more frequently than other adults.  You might consider seeing an ENT to look at your vocal cords and see if there is thickening or a nodule there that can be treated.
