Adverse reaction to Advair

My doctor recently switched my med from Asmanex to Advair (250).  I've been on it a week and do NOT like it.  My lungs feel like they're on fire. I have upper back pain.  I'm pretty jittery, especially in the morning.  What's worse, is that I'm still getting the tight chest so that I have to use my rescue inhaler.

Do you think it's the medication or something else?

The first thing you should do is report this information to your doctor, without delay.  .  Advair is ordinarily well tolerated but can cause the jitters, secondary to the Serevent, a long-acting bronchodilator that is in it.  Lungs "on fire" and upper back pain would be most uncommon. If you have never had these symptoms before using Advair, it is suspicious.  Your doctor will probably advise you to, at least temporarily, discontinue the Advair and go back to the Asmanex or another drug or combination.

I tried Advair and had the same reaction as you...the specialist said.." Well, if you getting a bad reaction, then stop it"...I never heard from her again??  Guess she didn't like me phoning her...?  I use a inhaler only now..

I had a side effect with asmanex - gave me horrible palpitations.  Would probably have the same problem with advair.  I don't think these powder treatments are good for everyone.  I'm on azmacort now.
