Allergies and Early Obstructive Pulmonary Impairment

I recently was referred back to the allergist. I was on allergy shots for 8 years as a child. I have had chronic sinus infections since about age 21 (3 to 4 per year). The ENT said that surgery would not help since my sinus problems are more a matter of anatomy.
The allergist ran a PFT and when they took him the results, he ran another one after a breathing treatment. In his comment section, he stated "possible early obstructive pulmonary impairment."
I have had asthma as a child, but currently have had only problems when exercising. He placed me back on my inhaler and added Advair to the mix along with 3 allergy medicines.
I have never heard of early obstructive pulmonary impairment. Can anyone help me out with this?

It is most likely that your doctor is thinking about asthma, but did not want to give a definitive diagnosis at this time. However the lung problem may not be related to the sinus problem. Talk more with the allergist to get a better idea of what he is thinking and get on a treatment program to relieve your symptoms.

I wonder if that's like COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder). Look online to see if you recongize any of the symptoms and ask your doctor if it's the same.
