Anyone?

by SarahJ0509, Dec 16, 2008 03:06PM
I've had the same type of symptoms as everyone else. I can breathe fine through my nose, but my throat gets mucus in it everytime I eat, drink, talk, laugh. I am constantly spitting up mucus or trying to clear my throat. Coughing doesn't bring anything up; it just makes my chest feel tight. I feel like there is always something stuck in the back of my throat. I got a cold last week which started with sore throat, earache, headache, and being very stopped up in the head & nose areas. All my symptoms of the cold are gone except now I am left with this nasty mucus problem. It is very irritating. My boyfriend & I have lived in our current house for a year and he noticed that a few weeks after moving in he was spitting up more mucus. He tells me that he has spent years with the mucus in the throat problem. I have noticed that since I moved into our current house I have been spitting up mucus, which I don't recall doing previous to this time. But since my cold I am having a lot more mucus that clogs up my throat. I have tried Mucinex, Sudafed with and without pseudephrine, Tylenold cold & allergy, Nyquil, Dayquil, zycam spray for the nostrils... and just a few minutes ago I decided to try Claritin Allergy since I've read a lot about how this problem could be attributed to allergies. I have never known of any allergies that I've had before, and I have no idea what I could be allergic to now. My boyfriend & I believe that our house has mold in the walls but we still have 5 months on our contract. I am really worried about what I might have. I've read many different things from possible food or material allergy to candida albicans overgrowth to sinusitis to laryngopharyngeal reflux... I am also experiencing difficulty burping. It is like I can hear and feel the air move from my stomach to my esophagus but then it just stays there which puts a lot of pressure on my chest too. I don't know if this symptom can be attributed to the mucus problem or not. Maybe all of mine is just from my cold and I should give it more time to go away? I don't know what else to do. I'm not sure that I would trust the Neti Pot to work. I have a doctor's appt next month. Should I wait that long to ask somebody? Any response would be appreciated.
