Asthma, Bronchitis

I am 41 years old and about 3 years ago my lungs where severely burnt with chemicals (at work) since then I have had numerous problems. I con't to get what the doctors are calling Seveve Bronchitis. Right now I'm on Biaxin 500 mg twice a day, breathing treatment 4 times a day, 2 inhalers, cough med's and I'm still wheezing. If I do get anything to come up it is so thick. I have been down this time for 2 weeks and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. I have lost my voice completely which happens every time and is something that I don't understand either. HELP is there anything else I can do?

I would suggest an appointment with a Pulmonologist, if you haven't seen one. Sounds to me like you may need a change of medication.

Since you lose your voice, consider the possiblity this is a bronchial spasm.  I can only tell you Singulair solved the problem for me.  Every time I get "bronchitis" I lose my voice -- finally my family practice doc, former ER doc, told me he was going to treat the spasm and the rest would follow.  So far, so good -- I didn't need an antibiotic this time, either.  And, even with Albuterol on-board I used to wheeze so loudly at night I would wake myself up thinking my husband had on a harmonica-playing country musician!  Or, that my 5 year old was up, playing her harmonica!  Nope, just me.  Good luck!
