Blood in Mucus

by BlueEyed, Jan 31, 2008 11:15AM
Hi! I've been battling what I assume is a cold for several months now. At first I thought it was just allergies because I would sneeze several times and thats it, I'd be fine. As time has passed every time I blow my nose blood would come out in the mucus. Not a little, not in tiny streaks but alot. The mucus is clear, but with the blood is tinged pink or red. I sometimes have headaches but nothing unusual. Also recently I've been "spitting up" mucus with blood too. Lately I've been feeling really achy and super tired. And my chest hurts, it feels tight. And I've developed a little bit of a cough. I've been putting off going to the doctors because I didnt have insurance for the longest time, now I've got it. So, any suggestions on what it could be? Should I go see a doctor asap or is it okay to make a later appointment? Thanks so much!

Sounds like anouther case of sinusitus thats moved down into the lungs... if your spitting up mucus streaked with blood that means you have tiny capillaries that have ruptured in the esophagus or lungs which could signal walking pnemonia (pneumonia) or severe broncitus.... Id just suggeset a trip to the ER or your doctor if you can get in within the next 24 hours, but I wouldnt wait any longer than that because the line between bad and deadly can be thin. Go see your doctor or ER ..

*Wishing you good health quickly*
