Blood in my phlegm

by naz82, Oct 19, 2009 06:06PM
Hi there,

I gave up smoking around one year ago and since then and only now and then in the morning I wake with a really dry throat and a huge lump of phlegm in it. When I clear my throught the phlegm is dark green/brown and has what looks like fresh blood in it and I often wake up and and night have a taste of blood in my mouth....this must happen about once or twice a week. I've been to a doctor and they have sent me to a specialist and have asked for a chest x-ray...I had one about 9 months ago and it was clear...

Should I be worried as I am to be honest?

I don't suffer from anything else just that it feels like I have a lump in my throut sometimes......and the above mentioined.

Kind Regards

David
