Blood in sputum

by shainshah, Aug 07, 2008 05:28PM
I had a history of tuberculosis 25 yrs ago that is when i was 21 yrs old and i  am 46 yrs old now. I was cleared for TB after taking the treatement. But again after one year i had a relapsed. Then again i took the treatment and again it was cleared. But i think whenever i take my chest x-ray the scar is always there. The Dr say not to worry about it. But now just 3 months ago i started noticing thin watery blood coming out with my sputum that too only in mornings and with itchy cough.I have to clear my throat the whole day but then nothing comes out. And again in morning it start coming out. I went to my Pulmonary Doctor. He admitted me to the hospital and performed blood and sputum test 3 times in 3 days. Everything was cleared. No sign of TB. Only scar on chest x-ray. I was discharged from the hospital with a clear chit. Now again i have started observing blood in my sputum in mornings. And i have to clear my throat occasionaly whole day. I take pain killers for my spondilitis since last 25 years daily without fail. Is that the culprit showing up now its sideeffects. If yes, then what i m suppose to do and if not then also what am i suppose to do. The Dr wants me to undergo number of different tests like MRI, Biopsy of lungs etc etc. which i don't want to do.

This discussion is related to Bright red blood when clearing throat? Should I be concerned?.
