Bronchitis

I was wondering if bronchitis in anyway can lead to changes in menstral cycle.  I was diagnosed three days ago with bronchitis the same day I was supposed to begin menstrating. I still have not gotten my period this month and was wondering if my body might have skipped it because of my illness or medication.  My doctor said I have a very bad case, almost pneumonia, i havent had un-protected sex so I'am thinking there must be another reason.  Thankyou for your time, the information on these pages is very helpful.

It is possible that any severe acute illness might lead to a one-time abnormality of menstrual cycle.  Don't worry about it.  If you miss two consecutive menstrual cycles, that should be evaluated by an OB/GYN specialist.
