CONSTANT RINGING IN EARS

Hi. My husband has had sinus problems for several years now. Lately though he has developed symtoms (symptoms) that I'm not sure can be explained by sinusitis alone. He has been feeling progressively worse. He has a constant ringing in his ears, pressure in the ears, is dizzy and has periods of fever. One minute his temperature is fine and the next minute he is burning up.  It has gotten so bad that he spends more time at home sick than he does at work. He's been feeling this way for a long time now.  His doctor keeps treating the sinus infections he continues to get but they never seem to go completely away and most of the antibiotics don't seem to work.  Recently he has some hearing tests and has discovered he also has some hearing loss. He had a CT scan a week ago but no results to date. What could these symptoms be indicative of?

The CT scan of the sinuses will tell you a lot. It will answer the question of whether this is a sinus problem or not. It appears that there is an underlying infection somewhere, which is giving all of the symptoms you are describing. The most likely place for that is the sinus area. If the CT is normal, I would suggest seeing an ENT physician for further evaluation.

Hi, I have been having the same symptoms for years also, don't really get bad sinus headaches as much lately but always feel as though I have a fever, constant thick drainage in my throat and very very dizzy.  I thought I was the only person in the world feeling this as my regular doctor keeps treating me for sinisitus, he put me on antibiotic for a solid month last month and low & behold, the symptoms are back again with a vengence, the dizziness is really making me sick.  Have you found out anything yet?
