COPD and Pseudomonas

by jakeirl2007, Nov 20, 2007 05:51PM
hello,

I have long term COPD and am on Combivent UVD's and Prednisolone and Spiriva, Symbicort, Uniphyllin, Erodotin and various antibiotics. I was recently in hospital and was in isolation because of MRSA and was discharged. Before I was discharged I was told that I had tested for Pseudomonas and it was present and it looked as though it was colonizing my lungs. I was wondering if you could please give me any information regarding this condition, it would appear that antibiotics are no longer able to keep clear of chest infections. While I was in hospital I was put on an enclosed heated nebulizer and I found great relief in breathing. I would appreciate any comments you might have on this as it is causing me some concern.

P.S: I am also on home oxygen.

Thank you.

Jake
