COPD

by Hoosier161, Jan 05, 2008 10:13PM
Are there different stages of COPD?  I have a 45 year old daughter who was diagnosed around 3 months ago and she seems to be getting worse. She does at least 2 breathing treatments a day, is taking an antibiotic and started taking Prednisone (SP) yesterday.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes there are...they are determined from the results of pulmonary function tests. Here is an excellent link that describes the stages of COPD and what one might experience as far as symptoms in each stage. It is from COPD-international: http://www.copd-international.com/library/stages.htm
I hope that this helps..Sunny
