CT results

I had a follow up CT:( lung nodule peripheral left lower lobe seen on recent abdominal pelvic CT 9/09.. )
This is my results I need help understanding what all this means I do not know medical terms and was wondering if someone could explain it to me thanks.

My results are as following:

There are tiny subcentimeter hypodense nodule versus cyst inthe posterior base of the left thyroid lobe. There are normal size subcentimeter mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes. Probable small hital hernia. Mediastinal hilar and visible upper abdominal structures otherwise normal. The previously seem 9mm flattened speroid non - calcified nodule abutting the pleura posterolaterally in the left lobe is again seen. This is unchanged from the prior CT of abdomen and is new from the two prior CT pulmaonary angiogram studies. There is minimal dependent bibasilar stranding and haziness most likely dependent atelectasis. The lungs are otherwise clear with no addtional nodules. no infiltrates or other findings. No visible endobronchial lesions.

The impression:
Non-calcified 9mm nodule abutting the pleura posterolaterally in the left lower lobe unchanged from 9/4/09 abdominal CT,new from 2007 and 2005 Chest CT studies. Differential incldes non-calcified granuloma versus (metastatic) neoplasm. Correlate with patient's medical history for known neoplasm elsewhere. Assuming there is none. recommend follow up chest CT in six months.
