Can't breathe, head and chest tension congestion, 60 pound weight loss

I have been sick for the past 6 months and haven't been able to get a diagnosis. My worst symptoms are tension and congestion in my head and chest that I can't clear and makes me feel like I can't breathe. I also have stomach pains and intestinal gas along with various other minor symptoms. I have also lost 60 pounds in 6 months for no apparent reason. I was always pretty healthy until September of 2006 when I got prostatitis and pneumonia within the same month. I felt my breathing had never really recovered but in May 2008 in became a nightmare. In October 2008 I passed what I thought was a parasite and felt better immediately. My breathing got better and the tension in my head and chest was relieved. I had been constipated for weeks before that time and m bowel movements returned to normal. The symptoms have all returned and the doctors have tested the "worms" and tell me that they are not worms but mucus (see picture). I have also sent in three stool samples, which have come back negative. I am not 100% convinced that it is not parasites. I lived in Asia for 5 years from 2000 to 2005. I have also spoken to many people who have had similar symptoms as I that eventually were diagnosed as having parasites. They also had difficulty getting detected. I have seen a respirologist and neurologist who did tests including blood, chest x rays, a head CT scan, pulmonary function test, bronchial scope, all of which have came back fine. I am currently seeing an Infectious Disease doctor and a Gastroenterologist who have done some blood work and have scheduled an Upper GI test, a flexible sigmidoscopy and gastroscopy. I am also scheduled to see an internal specialist. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and if you have any information or insights please email me. Ultimately, I just want to breathe normally again and get my life back!

I was just going to say that you need to see a GI doc, but you are in the process of seeing one as well as ID doc. That is a good start...as far as your lungs, I wish I had answers for you. You describe what could easily be reflux as it does mimic asthma symptoms at times. If you have pain in your head, maybe your sinuses are giving you grief as well (a sinus xray or CT scan will show inflammation/infection)
I am not a doc, just a former RN so please take what I say for face value....
I hope this helps, Sunny
