Chest heaviness and shortness of breath

by calcottr, Jul 04, 2009 09:14PM
Hi there,

I am a 20-year-old female with a healthy weight and no history of heart or respiratory problems. For the past week or so I have been experiencing heaviness in my chest fairly consistently. It hasn't been painful, and has not affected my daily activities, but I am starting to get worried as it has lasted for so long. Whenever I climb up the stairs I feel out of breath and my heart seems to be pounding. Occasionally the chest heaviness is accompanied by an internal pain in the left side of my lower back...
Should I see a doctor about this?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated; thanks for your time!
