Chest pains

by DSW71121, Jul 13, 2004 12:00AM
a month ago had a respiratory infection.  in the past 2 weeks have been having chest pains across the top of my chest, through the left side and around back.  in general, can these pains be caused by a pulled muscle from excessive coughing.  still have phlegm when coughing.  am on the road and so regular care giver is elsewhere, could this be serious with the need to see a physician?

A pulled muscle from excessive coughing could cause your chest pains but I would not assume that.  Travel or not, you need to be seen and at least have a chest x-ray.
