Chronic Cough in a 3 year old for 3 years

Dear Sirs: My daughter just turned 3 years old, from the day she was born she has been a sick child.  I had her to full term, never smoked or drank.  She has had an ongoing persistent cough for the last 3 years.

This time around, she seems to be getting worse, it starts with a cold, then turns into constant dry cough which does not let her sleep.  I have taken her to two pediatricians who have performed chest and sinus x-rays.  Everytime they do these types of x-rays, they tell me that she has a sinus infection, they give her antibiotics and off we go.  The antibiotics kick in after a week or so, and 3 weeks later, the cough starts again, and the aforementioned process begins again.

I took her to the doctor on OCtober 16 after 3 weeks of hearing her cough her lungs out and told her  doctor that my motherly instincts feel there is something dearly wrong with my child, and he went ahead and ordered another x-ray of her chest which did not disclose anything and he did not give her any medicine.  However, she coughed her lungs out all night, all day, all evening, and continues as I write this message.

I have gone on your forum and as per your various recommendations, gave her water, water, water, water, water, but nothing works.  I am finally desperate and thus, I am writing you for help.

My daughter does not sleep, barely eats, her eyes are red, her face is pale and she looks week.  It is obvious to everyone else that she is sick, but her doctor is convinced otherwise.

My daughter does not have any abnormal breathing, we don't have pets, and I keep my house clear 24/7.  I cannot figure out what is wrong with my daughter, but know deep down that there is something definetely wrong,  Is there any tests you could suggest the doctor to do to try to figure out what is wrong with her?  I am desperate, thank you.

i had the same life long battle as her but i am now 36. i have had pneumonia 5 or 6 times and hospitalized 3 times. i had the sickness, coughing, ear infections, sinus infections, etc. etc. no one new what the real cause was they just sent mom home with antibiotics just like they do you. when i was 28 i was put in the hospital for the third time with pneumonia and the specialist that came in asked me a series of questions, including, why don't you have any children??
he knew that immotile cilia syndrome or primary ciliary dyskenesia (it was renamed) caused infertility, because the cilia hair are needed to carry the eggs throuh the fallopian tubes. i had already been tested for CF and did not have it. i had a lung biopsy done and found that i did have ICS/PCD. i am not saying that your daughter has it, just offering another possibility for your doctor to look into. look it up...see if the symptoms are familiar and ask your doctor.
any further questions...you can email me. god bless and good luck in your search.

The chances of gettng her into an allergist here in Canada in the next 12 months are basically 0, Allergists here only take patients on an urge/nt basis, referred by specialists, or over 4 (so next August) I can book her in no problem.  Why
