Thank you for your advise. After pushing my doctor a bit on the breathing issue, she finally consented to send me to a Pulmonologist. She is also sending me to a Neurologist.
Thanks!
Yours is a complex problem. The breathing problem that has gone on for years may be related to the sinus problem, but is probably unrelated to the dizziness, imbalance, muscle weakness and trouble swallowing. Having just begun, the sinus problem may simply be an acute sinusitis.
You should see a pulmonologist to evaluate your breathing problem. Possibilities would include asthma that can present without wheezing, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) a disease that commonly occurs with asthma due to allergy to a fungus, an autoimmune disease, bronchiectasis, or cystic fibrosis with or without bronchiectasis. A good pulmonologist should be able to establish a diagnosis, quickly.
It is very good news that the brain MRI was normal but that does not entirely rule out neurologic disease or muscle disease as a cause of the dizziness, imbalance, muscle weakness and trouble swallowing. You should consult with a neurologist.
An infectious disease that can cause at least some of what you have experienced is Lyme disease.
Finally, there is the possibility that at least some of your symptoms may be on the basis of anxiety, with or without panic disorder.
Determining what is wrong will require the diagnostic skills of a specialist in internal medicine.
