Constant Cough

Hello, I've had a constant cough for the past 2 weeks that just won't go away, it's to the point where I'm hardly getting any sleep and it's really becoming a problem. when I breath in a tickle develops in the back of my throat and that's what is causing me to cough. Just today I also found tilting my head back will cause me to cough also almost uncontrollably. If anyone else has experienced this and knows what it is I'd really appreciate a reply.

Thanks in advance,

JLR

Thanks for the comments.  It seems that this is a very common problem and no answers!  I have had it for 20 yrs.  Whatever I take it helps for a while and then bang ~ back again!  I find with me it is seasonal and chronic certain times of the year.  I am now starting to think it could be mold or fungi ~ this is just one of the comments I came across.  Try and do a process of elimination.  When do you cough the  most  and when is it at its worse?  Is it when you have certain foods etc.  Only this way can we try and sort the problem.  I have had nasal, throat, ear sprays etc but nothing helps.  What now makes me think it could be mold is that everytime I walk into my house I cough!!
I have this constant tickle in my throat which causes the cough.  At the moment I am using a colloidal silver nasal spary which seems to be helping but I think only because it is keeping the nasal passages clear so no drip into the throat to aggravate the tickle!!

Well, I still don't know what it is that causes this, but for me the cure I found for whatever I have was Ibuprofen. I took 4 advil at about 7 pm last night & since then I haven't had any tickle in the back of my throat and no more uncontrollable coughing. Could just be coincidence I don't know.

My 32 yr old son has the same thing.  It began about two years ago with a cold.  Since then, he gets this uncontrollable bouts of dry cough. He complains about a tickle in the back of his throat and feels dizzy after he is able to take a break from coughing.  He has been tested for reflux, ashma, ENT problems and allergies. He is being treated with everything from Prednisone to Nexium for reflux. Unfortunately, no answer and the bouts of coughing keep repeating themselves more and more often.  It is extremely frustrating to everyone since he just feels miserable.  If anyone in the forum has any suggestion of what to do or who to see please let us know.
JLR, if you found someone with an answer, please let us know.  Sorry I cannot give you any consolation.
I cannot believe so many people in the forum suffer from the same thing and nobody has an answer.
I will keep asking around and see if we hit the jackpot.  When I do, I'll let you all know.  Please you do the same for us.  Thanks.
