To help with the cost of medicine drug companies give samples to doctors.  To get samples you will need to ask your doctor.  Drug companies do offer programs to help with the cost of medicine.  Information about these programs is available at http://www.phrma.org the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America Website.  The best way to get information about the program for a certain medicine is to contact the company that makes that medicine.  Glaxo SmithKline makes Advair

There are programs that will help you with medications if you can't afford them.  Go to www.needymeds.com and see if your medication is listed.  If it is, check to see if the company will comp you the drugs.  You will have to probably fill out an financial statement and then they either send the drugs directly to you doctor or you get a coupon to go the pharmacy to pick them up.  Your doctor has to fill out a form from the drug company and send it in.  My husband gets his Flovent free and the cost of the Flovent is $116.00 per month.  So check it out and good luck.

There are samples available in some doctors offices but you may have to ask for them. Not all physicians offices carry samples of this medication. I know it's expensive. Many of the patients I see take Advair. Advair is a combination of Flovent(fluticasone propionate) and Serevent(salmeterol). Flovent and Serevent actually have more actuations available to the patient. In other words, I believe the Advair discus has 28 actuations or "puffs" available to the patient, where as the Flovent and Serevent have 200 actuations each. To buy the Flovent and Serevent inhalers seperately, it would cost a little more. But they may last you longer. Look into the possibilities and ask your physician about this. Take care and good luck!
