Costochondritis - or something else

Diagnosed with Costochondritis (mostly on the right side)about 3 weeks ago which I guess came from a cold that I had in late September which was never very productive but made me cough a lot the first week or so. I have also felt like I need to clear my throat and feel like I have something I need to swallow in my throat since then. I was given anti-inflammatories for about 8 days which they seemed to help clear up the spot on the right below my breast that felt like an internal lump/congested area.  I am on Coumadin so the doctor didn't want to give me too many pills.  A couple of days after I ran out of anti-inflammatories, around December 16th I had been working at my computer for about 2 hours stopped to eat Chinese and then spent about another hour on the computer and had what I am going to call an attack. I had a great deal of pressure in my chest burning in my upper back and shoulders which persisted until about 1:00AM. The next day I felt tightness pressure in the chest and some nausea. I ate pizza for dinner and that night I woke up about 2 hours after falling asleep with burning, pressure, sweats, pulsing in the chest and then chills which lasted for a couple of hours. I went back to the doctor the next day and got an antibiotic(fever 99.4), more anti-inflammatories, and steroids. I changed my diet after my gall bladder was mentioned.  The next couple of days I had the same problems (night sweats burning)in the night but for shorter periods of time. Since diet change I haven't had any attacks in the night but now have pain on side and lower back on right.

This is a very complex set of symptoms!! It is very difficult to tell what is going on from what you have described. This would require a good physical examination and perhaps some tests, including a chest x-ray. It is possible this is muscle related, nerve related, lung related. It is doubtful that it is allergy related, although the foods might have caused some reflux, which could have given you some of what you have described. I would suggest that your physician who is following this problem is the best person to make the diagnosis and treat the problem.

I have had symptoms similar to yours.  Night sweating, chest pains/burning and chills in middle of night.  I also have a swollen throat. Also have swollen glands in neck and armpits. Am on Zantac now and going for more tests.  Just wondering if you have discovered anything else about your condition.
