Could I have lung cancer

by DonnyD, Mar 31, 2008 10:08PM
A 1/2 cm nodule was found in my upper left lung in 7/06.  Had another ct scan in 11/06 still 1/2 cm.  Doctor said it was probably just a spot on lung and not to worry.  Had a regular chest xray in 3/08 and found a 3 cm mass in upper left lobe of lung.  Mass is lobulated and there is no enlarged lymph nodes with the hilar regions or the mediastinum.  There are at most a few shotty mediastinal lymph nodes as well as a few shotty lymph nodes with the axillary regions.  Smoked for forty years and am now 60 yrs old.  Had TB years ago and also legioneer's desease years ago. I feel great, no weight loss or loss of appetite or no coughing up of blood.  I no longer smoke but am scared to death.  Have very mild copd.  Could this mass be a fungus, please help.  See doctor on Thursday and scheduled for a pet scan on Sunday.  Please reply as I can not sleep and can harly work for worry.  Thank you
