Croup & Pneumonia twice in a month?

by mom2landon, Oct 19, 2008 10:27PM
My son is 22 months old and in the last month has had croup twice and pneumonia twice. The first time the pneumonia was in the left lung now we are onto the right lung. I'm just wondering what kinds of questions I need to ask my doctor. Is this normal in any way? Could it be signs that maybe we need to test for asthma or cystic fibrosis? He was a full term baby.. if anything past his due date weighing 10 pounds 2 ounces and both parents are nonsmokers. He does go to daycare though.. but no one has had any respiratory issues as of late.. I work at the school so I would know as long as the parents notified us. I'm just wondering how concerned I should be about all of this and where to go from here since they dont seem to want to figure out why this keeps happening. He has been on a steriod both times for the croup and antibotics both times for the pneumonia.. also is it possible for him to develop c-dif or anything similar due to the fact that he is continuously on antibotics. I honestly can't remember the last time we went both than 2 weeks without some form of cold or other illness.

thank you.
