Defining Pneumonia

I was hospitalized  Feb 16th 2008 with pneumonia, since It's now March, I feel like my Asthma isnt totally under control. I havent had to take my meds everyday, only when I needed them when I got sick, allergies etc.

Since I left the hospital Feb 22 nd, and it's now March 20th, almost a month, I feel that my asthma isnt under control, because when I got sick with bronchitis, I took the antibiotics etc and I was fine.

Now I can't even get off of this symbicort, because my lungs are super sensitive, could that be it?

I used to know all there was about asthma, because I was a volunteer co-ordinator for the Lung association 20 yrs ago, now it's like I have no clue.

I'm 45 yrs old, some will say it has to do with age, other's say from being sick so much with bronchitis and pneumonia. The last time I had pneumonia was 3 yrs ago and now I'm wondering what is wrong with me, why do I have so much phelgm, not just from waking up and choking to death because of it, but through out the day.

My lungs must be hyper-sensitive, that's all I can really put my finger on.

I got off O2 to soon, they tried to ween me off of it, and it was a no go, so I made myself get off of it so I could go home, was this a bad idea?
